GDYGA

Thank you!

Our annual GDYGA Junior National Tournament held July 14-15 at Kittyhawk Golf Course in Dayton was a huge success.  All the golfers conducted themselves in the truest spirit of good sportsmanship.  Our first-class volunteers kept everything moving in a timely and efficient manner.  The dedication and commitment shown by the parents and instructors was second-to-none.  The weather cooperated, and a good time was had by all.  Collectively, we have proved once again that junior golf is alive and well in Dayton!  We cannot thank each of you enough.  We look forward to seeing each of you on July 11 -13, 2008 for the next edition of our annual Jr. National Tournament.

Again, thanks so much for a great tournament!

The Dayton Youth Golf Academy (DYGA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989. It's all volunteer staff teaches girls and boys from age 8 to 18 to play golf and to have the integrity, courtesy, and mental discipline, found in learning the game of golf.

As a family based organization; fund raising events, private donations, and minimal membership fees finance our entire program.

DYGA welcomes children of all races, creeds and economic backgrounds. They learn the rules of the game, the customs and courtesies on the course, respect for the individual, and to always be supportive of another's best efforts.

Lessons are taught by knowledgeable, volunteer instructors with the help of Dayton area PGA professionals.
Students are encouraged to participate in junior tournaments throughout the Midwest. With the generous support of the City of Dayton, in the use of it's Northwest Recreation Center, Madden and Kittyhawk facilities, the practice and learning schedule keeps participants busy year round.

While this current schedule is well structured, the full potential of this program is restricted. DYGA hopes to develop and maintain an active, year round golf facility for youth. This would provide a driving range, putting greens, practice bunkers, indoor practice areas, classrooms, adequate offices, a golf shop and other areas normally associated with learning golf and an 18 hole golf course designed specifically for youths to learn how to play the game. Most importantly, we'll offer access to the game, thereby encouraging individual growth.

DONATIONS TO SUPPORT THE YOUTH AND PROGRAM ARE NEEDED TO SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS.
